All barefoot shoes in our range are designed for the needs of little feet – with a wide foot shape that allows the toes to spread naturally and stay both free and happy.

Young children's feet are constantly developing. From the time they take their first steps until they can walk on their own for about a year, their motor skills develop enormously. This means that the way a child moves is different depending on whether they are 12 months or 24 months old. When a child starts taking their first steps can vary – some do it earlier than others. All of this affects how the sole of the shoe should be designed.

The sole is always wide and flexible, but for children who move around a lot and have been walking on their own for 1.5 years, the durability may need to be adjusted. Therefore, different materials are sometimes used to meet these needs.

Most of the barefoot shoes in "First Steps" are made of soft and supple leather that feels natural against the skin.

Thin, flexible soles allow your feet to move freely, almost like being barefoot.
